The store manager is really upset but we are doing the best to keep the goal, are they going to fire all of us?

how it works is if you don't meet training/sales goals they start a plan of action ..... the only job in jeopardy would be the store manager ........because he hasn't been able to Manage training sales there-for he isn't doing his job......the only way training would put your job in jeopardy would be if you ARE A TRAINER and have sold no classes or if you told a customer to go somewhere else... the economy sucks and most people don't want to spend 109 on something they believe they can do them self's ..but believe me they cant at least not as well as the trainers can...... so just relax and practice the 10x10 rule that they talk about it really works i at least plant 2 seeds for training every day thats my personal goal!!! usually i get one sign up a week. but like i said trainings a hard thing to sale so take a class if you need to and just do your best to tell the customer exactly what the class is like

  • Wow. I hope no one said anything to make you think that! It is a goal, which is sometimes not reached. Heck, I think there may only be one store in my district to have it barely reached for the financial year.

That being said, the trainers should be selling 2 a week, and managers 1 a week each. Help from employees is always appreciated. Atleast 1 a week if you are full time is not a huge feat. Hang on to a phone and get the call ins. I am in Pet Care and even I can usually squeak out one Training class a week if I put my mind to it!

  • Ha, i work at petsmart in mi! And i never heard of them firing people becuase they didnt meet the goal. the big guy might be pissed, cut hours and such.. but my manager isnt really strict so hed never have the guts to fire anyone. Good luck, times are tough, its hard to sell those classes

  • Depends on the manager... if they are a jerk... they just might.
