Dog Training Tricks - Cool Dog Tricks To Teach Your Dog

Some useful things:
Stay
Come
Leave it (so he won't eat things that fall on the floor - it's good in case you drop something that will harm them like a pill)
Also you could teach him how to retrieve. Lots of dogs will chase toys naturally, others have to be coaxed more. Get two toys that he really likes. Throw one as you say "Get it!", and hopefully he should run and pick it up. Then get his attention with the toy you still have and walk backwards a bit to encourage him to come towards you. As you're doing this say "Bring it!" and praise him if he comes. Then "trade" toys. As he drops the toy, say "Drop it!" then praise and give him the other toy. This is what I've started doing with my eight week old puppy.
Some other cute tricks are having him wave and give you five, and take a bow.
To teach "Give Me Five" hold a treat in a closed hand behind your other open hand. The dog should start pawing at your hand - when he does, praise. Any movement with his paw towards your hand should be praised. Eventually he'll get to where he'll touch your hand with his paw, and you can fade out the treats. Another variation is "Paw". I taught my one Boston Terrier to put her paw on the remote, computer mouse, etc. and hold it there by using clicker training (Google clicker training and it'll come up with a bunch of stuff about it)
To teach Take a Bow, lure your puppy's head down to the ground with a treat, but keep one hand underneath his tummy so he can't put his back end down. Like any other trick praise any step towards the action, and work your way towards actually having him bow with just a command word.
Have fun with your puppy. ^_^

Meatloaf - I saw a JRT that can do handstands. But I would start with basic obedience it bonds the two of you and your dog will be happy to please you. Work your way up to agility, JRT's excell at this sport, but you could get into flyball or airsports too. Check out some local dog training clubs and go from there. Your options should be limitless! Have fun.
- Seriously, I bite my dog. He is the best dog in the world because of it. A well chewed dog is a good dog is what I always say. I hope this helps.
