Dog Health Questions: Dog training?

i had a dg about a year ago but because of reasons beyond my control i had to give him up to animal shelter 2 days ago they called mesaying the FOUND my dog i was exited because to be honest i thought id never see him again of course i went and paid the fineonly 45$ and now hes with me again the cad thing is when i had to let him go he had a bad habit(he was a puppy) of not popping outside but inside now that hes back he chooses to do the same thing he is walked outside but as soon as he comes inside he goes and poops what shall i do PLEASE HELP

yeah don't hit your dog. he'll only get confused and become afraid of you. When he's about to go, take him outside and then praise him for going on the grass. if you don't catch him going inside, then pick it up with a paper towel and take it outside and lay it on the area in which you want him to potty.
show it to him and then pet him softly while pointing at it.
Hopefully a few days of this should help. It might take longer, because he's an older dog now and it will be harder to break him of his habit.
