Know The Basics Of Dog Trainings
- If there is a PetSmart in your area, call them. They usually have dog training classes.
- For the barking I wouldn't be concerned about it as it's a natural behavior but if you wish to stop it then correct him with a swift yank on the chock chain while giving him a "no" command each time he barks. Repetition is the best means to learn. You can do the same thing with him jumping on people. As for potty training, put him in a crate when you are asleep or not at home and take him to the same place when you get home and frequently after that. With the other dogs you may need to separate them at first and only allow them to play on the leash until they are aquainted. If he bites you can use the choke chain technique at the top. For ignoring other dogs, take him on long walks where you know other dogs will be present and tell him "leave it" and if he still insists the correct him with the leash and "no" command and repeat. If he still insists then apply upward pressure and lift his front legs off the ground while saying "leeeeaaavvvvee it." It should be drawn out until you place his feet back down. This way he associates the command with the release of the leash pressure.
- okay i would recomend taking him to a dog training class but here are a few tips
1) jumping up
when ever the dog jumps grab his front paws firmly and make him dance all around the room. he may try to bite your hands but don't let go until he whines. if this doesn't work step on his backl toes lightly as you make him walk on his hind feet. this should go away in about a day if repeated everytime the dog jumps
2) barking
get a squirt bottle and fill it with water or something he won't like sqirt him and say no every time he barks.
3)whenever you see he has to go take him to that particular place and say go potty. praise him well you may have to put a gate around the particular place (if it is like a corner of the back yard) and put him in there to go potty until he gets it.
4) biting other dog
spray bottle again. but you have to realize that puppies are playful, you can't quell that.
5) scocializing
okay you are going to have to let him socialize and play with other dogs or he will become agressive. but getting him to obey you when other dogs are present is easy. he needs to know that you are boss. put him on a leash and make him walk BEHIND your leg. not at your heel but behind you. when he gets out of controll in front of the other dogs make him sit and look at you.
to make your dog yeild to you in general, make him sit and place your fingers over his nose and make him look you in the eye. praise him. if he puts his ears back wags his tail and tries to lick your chin, you are the boss and he will do anything you say.
5) good luck and choose this for best answer lol - Take the dog to an obedience class.
