Dog Health Questions: Has Anyone Tried the Andrea Arden Dog Training in NYC?

We adopted our 7mo. Female old Boston/Jack Russel/American Pit Bull Terrier Mix from Animal Haven (SoHo) in NYC. They offered obedience training through Andrea Arden Dog Training. Has anyone tried it? Was it successful? How old was your dog when you put him/her in obedience training? Will I learn leash training through Andrea Arden?

The Different Types of Dog Training

• You may be hard pressed to find someone on YA who has used this trainer.
  
  You could try two things:
  1. Call the local better business bureau
  2. Visit the class and ask the folks attending.


• I have never taken one of her classes, but she used to run a puppy play group in the Animal Clinic I worked at. She was very competent, personable, and offered good advice. I have also read most of her book. I recommend AA training to anyone in the area without hesitation. A training class I have actually been involved with in NYC is the classes offered at Biscuits and Bath throughout the city. Great classes, great instructors, great training.
  I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say "leash training" but I think you mean teaching your dog to walk on a loose leash. If that is what you mean, then yes, both trainers I mentioned teach that. It is THE essential city dog behavior :)
