Dog Health Questions: Can somebody give me the quick and dirty with respect to building a dog training device that uses electricity?

What would I need to include. Clearly I need a capacitor, but what voltage?

I was thinking, about it and the circuit diagram seems straight forward. Battery, capacitor and electrodes. Should I include anything else to space out the duration of the shock, or should it be instantaneous.

My largest concern is the voltage stored and released on contact.

Recommended Answer:
Most simple way.....try to series a capacitor rated at 400 volts at 0.1uF to the 120 volts AC hot line. This way, capacitor limits the current of 120 volts AC and it shall not harm the dog but shocking as the dog bits other end of capacitor. It might not work if only by touching the skin where has thick hair. Then increase the voltage to 240 volts.
