I have six small dogs. Can I click and Treat one dog with the other dogs around or will this confuse the ones I am not giving a treat to

The Dog Training Things You Should Do and the Ones You Shouldn't

First of all, I want to say clicker training is great, I'm glad your interested! When you are first training your dogs to respond to the click, I would work with them one at a time in a place where the others wouldn't hear it. Once they all respond to it and understand it, I don't see a problem with working with one dog with the others around. Dogs are pretty smart; the know what the clicker means, but if they see you clicking and treating another dog, they usually understand it doesn't apply to them. So once they understand the clicker fully you can do it. If you are still worried they might get confused, check out this: http://www.sitstay.com/dog/supplies/serv…
Good luck and happy clicking! :]

How to use the Remote Dog Training Collar

  • Its probably easier if you clicker train with one dog at a time as you could confuse the others. you will see occasionally at dog training where there are other dogs one person will click and your dog won't respond and thats only because they know the difference between your click and someone elses but I think it would be harder if it were all your own dogs

  • Yes, at the outset you will confuse the others.Study clicker training before you start doing this. When you know what you are doing, introduce the clicker to each dog individually. Leave the other dogs in the house when you do this.

Clicker training is fantastic and it works.

  • Maybe if the other dogs are doing the commands the dog that you are trying to train will catch on faster.
