Dog Health Questions: I need dog training advice?

Is there some way to get my dog to stop pooing on the concrete around my pool? You would think she would rather go in the grass but she likes to poo on my concrete. It's really gross.

Have you tried the "clicker" method of training? Basically, you get a clicker, at any pet store, they're cheap. Anyway, try to get your dog to do her business on the grass, when she does, click right away, and give her a treat she likes. She will assosciate that click, and then the immediate treat with something she did that was proper. It worked with our dog! Good luck!

• Well, when you take her out, make sure you don't let her go near the concrete, because then she has a good chance of poooping on it. Carry her until you get her to the grass, and just don't let her go near the concrete. Hope this helps! Good luck!


• Take your dog on a leash out into the yard away from the concrete around your pool and wait until he goes, then praise him for doing the right thing! The more you take him out where you want him to go, the quicker he will learn that he gets praise (and maybe treats!) for going on the grass. Before long, you can give him a command when you let him out that tells him to go out beyond the pool area. Use this command while you are training him. A short, simple word is good, like "Go Out" or "Potty" or whatever you want to use.
