Some Helpful Tips To Help You With Your Dog Training Abilities

Recommended Answer:
To make this dog into anything approaching an acceptable canine companion, you are going to need a lot more than a bunch of free Web sites. You need a professional animal behavioral therapist. Anything less is irresponsible and puts other animals and people at risk.

National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors are the best of the best.

I understand why you want to do this, but keep in mind that right now, today, there are over 16,000 pit bull and other bully breed dogs in shelters across America. Many many of them are sweet, kindly dogs who wouldn't hurt anything and they risk almost certain death. Just putting things in perspective.

Dog Training Career: Doing It and Loving It

  • If your dog has aggression issue you need to see a professional behaviourist to work on these problems.

Sure I could give you plenty of free sites with advice on them but without having someone properly evaluate your dog and tell you what is the best solution you might make the situation worse. Even though you have the best intentions.

You will also need to work with other dogs to help reduce the dog to dog aggression this needs to be done in a controlled environment with professionals

  • My favorite dog trainer is Cesar Millan (the "Dog Whisperer" on National Geographic Channel), because he never gives up on any dog, and he's so calm in his methods. He's VERY used to dealing with dogs like the one you're describing. Check out http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/

  • This group was mentioned in another Yahoo group I belong to for aggressive behaviors. They have over 600 experienced trainers from around the world. Plus, it's free to join. Good luck to you!
