Dog Health Questions: Dog training! HELP!?

i got a little puppy recently and i don't really know its personality yet because it is a new puppy and i only got yesterday and it is a poodle mix so i was hoping it would be a good dog and I want to know how to make it very lovable and social dog. i know that alot of dog's temperment reflects off the way the owner raises it, i just want my dog to greet people and dogs like he has known them his whole life. please help!e
