We took in a stray, who is obviously housebroken. She does not have accidents. Unfortunately she doesn't take advantage of her walks/outdoor time. She just stands by my side, glancing up for approval it seems. So, she ends up holding it. I think she must have been trained with a command. I've tried, "Go, Go Potty, Go Poo, Go to the Bathroom..." probably any other "Go" command you can think of. I feel bad for her. Boston Terrier. Otherwise obedient. The vet says she's about six. Any advice?
Effective Dog Training by Using Collar and Leash
Recommended Answer:Since you've already tried guessing the basic commands (we say "hurry up!" to my dog), you should just teach her a new one. Pick an easy word or phrase and whenever you see her going to the bathroom, say it. Dogs are smart; she'll catch on to the new command and learn to respond to it, especially if there are treats involved!
