Have you been walking her? She's probably bored and needs exercise and to be socialized with other dogs. If you have a dog park nearby or even a field where peole tend to congregate with their dogs, why don't you take her there? My dog knows the neighbor dogs and if he can hear them he'll sit by the fence for hours, hoping to go play. She needs stimulus.
Aggressive Dog Training - Expert Advice
- Sounds to me like she is bored and/or depressed, missing all the excitement, other dogs and play time. Have you tried taking her to the park, spending a little extra time with her or making a play date with another dog? To be safe I would have her checked out by your vet to be sure nothing physical is wrong since she was away from you for so long and you don't know all that happened while she gone.
- Your dog may be confused. Four weeks is a long time to be apart. We have two dogs, and the longest we have left them was 14 days when we went to London a couple of years ago. They acted happy to see us at first, but after the first day, they withdrew and acted aloof. It took about 4 or 5 days for them to act normal. I think your dog is probably just apprehensive and worried that you might leave her again. Give it a little more time and in the meantime, show her lots of attention if possible. Good luck with your pet!
