SitStayFetch: Dog Training To Stop Your Dog's Behavior Problems (Review)
Recommended Answer:
I will only RECOMMEND but wont say that you MUST do it as not everyone can. However, I've used Clicker Training with my puppy since she was 8 weeks old and she has been learning stuff very fast. She now knows Jump, Sit, Lie down, Fetch, Shake, Other paw (Shake), Stay, Stop, Drop it, Roll over. I can't go into all of them deeply but I used the clicker with all of them. Basically, how the clicker training works is that you have to somehow get your pet to DO the action that you want of her and when she does, you click and reward. There are a lot of videos that can help you on Youtube and Google with this and I'm sure if you watch those you'll get a grasp of it very quickly and teach your dog a bunch of things.
For Fetch: I leashed my puppy and threw the toy, when she went and got the toy I directed her back to me with the leash and when she came back I said drop, she would drop and I would click, reward, and say good fetch. You have to say go FETCH as you throw the toy so she'll know that going, coming back, and dropping is all the process of Fetching. Good luck, I wish you luck!
Dog Training Methods Uncovered
- Why have you not googled 'obedience training a dog' and followed the online instructions? Youtube also has videos on dog training. Nobody can post that much information on these screens, they limit the number of words you can use.
- you can't train a dog. It is impossible. Oh, and Google doesn't exist either.
- There are many other things that you need to train your dog besides just teaching him to fetch. He also needs to be leash trained and manor trained, he also needs to know his name. When he gets the ball and brings it back to you, take the ball in your hand and say release, let go, drop it. What ever you wish. When he loosens his grip then you say good boy. When he drops the ball then you give him lots of praise and throw it again. If he brings the ball back and is still kind of resistant then do the process over again.
