Dog Training
Recommended Answer:
Stop using pee pads and actually train your dog to go outside. The only thing pee pads do is confuse your dog and make training harder.
Considerations When Buying Dog Training Equipment
- Don't use pee pads, they aren't as effective as actually taking the dog outside. To start, set up a schedule to take your dog outside. Since it sounds like she isn't potty trained, you'll have to start taking her out every 30 minutes to an hour. Take her out as soon as you wake up in the morning, after you feed her, after playtime, and it should be the last thing you do before bed. Take her food and water away 2 hours before bed. If you ever see her circling or sniffing, take her out asap. Watch her close. If she squats and starts to pee pick her up and take her straight outside. Everytime she pees outside, praise her. When you do take her outside to pee, give her a command, like "go potty" or "Go pee pee".
