Dog Health Questions: Dog training...female chihuahua?

Is it possible to train a 2 yr old female chihuahua to be nice. IE: not bite people who try to pet her, not bark at everyone, not run from you when you try to catch her...or is it too late?

They have that 'small dog complex' which is hard to control. Just keep up consistent training.

Oh, and remember that negative reinforcement will continue unwarranted behavior.

• Yeah ya see, remember that dogs live in the moment, so it's never to late to do anything with them, you first have to become a pack leader, once she trusts and respects you as her leader, then you can begin trying to train her..... i suspect right now she is the pack leader in your house......

  And she's only 2 years old, so she's not that old yet. I would reccomend taking control of her (not using negative reinforcement) but by becomming in her eyes the 'pack leader'. You need to in a way stand up to her and show her who's boss.
  
  After she begins to respect you, and you're still having trouble training her, try enrolling her in obediance classes. She'll most likely improve soon.

• lol best of luck to you im trying to do the same thing to my 2 year old female chihuahua. shes very vicious and its tough to discipline her you cant feel bad for what you have to do but ya i dunno watch the dog whisperer show with cesar milan its on national geographic channel or you can rent/buy the dvds. good luck
