Dog Health Questions: Harvest Moon: A wonderful life Special Edition dog training?

I've been training my dog every day since chapter one. I'm on chapter 2 fall and his level has been stuck since fall chapter 1. it's about 3/4 of the way filled and it won't seem to go any higher. if anyone knows how to help, i'd appreciate it!

Although the game is amazing... and strangley/creepingly addicting (how can brushing cows be fun?) it's most definetly not devoid of glitches.
