Dog Health Questions: A little help on dog training?

i recenty started practicing fetch in the two-toy method. hes 8 months old yorkie-poo and he seems to be very active and likes plushie toys and bouncy ball. the thing is whenever i try to make him retrieve, he runs off and then protects the toy. can u plz help??

When you throw the ball and he gets it, go over to him and take it away. Then give it back to him in his mouth. Keep doing this and he will know that when he gets the ball you will give it back.

• we taught my dog fetch at like 3 months we just threw and if he didn't bring back and we took it to the person who threw it and said bring here over and over and he learned that but he also learned is different toys by names like doggy,fox,monkey which are what he toys are and by the way i have a toy poodle


• try and bribe him w/ a snack. if he brings back the toy. tell him good boy while patting him on the head. and give him the snack.


• well lif your dog does that there is no way to stop it because my dog (who died today) did the same thing after 2 years it changed. and the next year she died because she thought cars were squaky toys. so do NOT get your dog obsessed with squaky toys!!!
