Have you tried to pick up the poop and bring it outside?
I did that with my mix pom, when he pooped inside I picked it up and put outside on the grass and when he got outside he smelled is own poop then he went right next to it and pooped:)
The Importance of Dog Training
- First of all, reputable breeders don't sell their dogs to pet stores, but that is a different subject.
You have to get back to house breaking the dog. Throw a party for him any time he goes potty outside. Treats and cheers every time. Put him in a crate after he eats, wait 45 mins or so then put him out without allowing him to run around to his favorite bathroom spot inside.
If he keeps going in the same spots, consider getting those indoor mats that dogs can go on for easy clean up. Since it's a tiny dog the mess won't be quite so messy.
Consider a puppy class for him - even little dogs can learn to behave properly. - You must crate him until he gets it.
does he have access to the yard? if not get a doggy door.
if you don't have a crate, you must catch him in the act and correct him. - 1. there is no reputable breeder who would sell pups to a pet shop; your pup came from a puppy mill.
2. so he's really not housebroken, so start over:
Housebreaking a puppy is easiest done with two crates, one just big enough for pup to sleep in, usually a plastic airline-type crate, and a larger, wire crate or puppy pen, that contains the smaller crate, and the floor is lined with Dri-dek tiles, newspapers or "wee-wee" pads.
You keep the pup in the smaller crate while you are busy around the house, taking care to bring the crate-containing-pup with you all over the house. Keep him in the room with you, talk to him. Take the pup outside every hour on the hour to the outside potty place, and praise highly and occasionally give a treat.
If you have to go to work or school, you put the bed-crate inside the bigger crate. Make sure the little crate's door cannot be fastened shut, because you want him free to get out of the bed-crate to potty outside of it.
When you go to bed, take the bed-crate upstairs with you. Puppy will feel safe enclosed in the crate and knowing that you are there, too, so he's not alone, he's unlikely to cry. When he does wake up and whine, it will be because he has to potty. That's your cue to get up and take him outside. Don't forget the leash; carry him in your arms on his back to the door to prevent accidents in the house, but make sure the leash is on him. You don't want to be hunting down a running pup at 2am in your bathrobe. Praise him when he goes, make much of him. Play a little if you want, and then everybody back to bed.
