Try this....tell her to "hold the bowl" then give her a treat and lots of praise. Keep going until she gets it. When she does ask her if she wants dinner, breakfast or whatever and tell her to "hold the bowl", then feed her.

- My Dobe does this on her own but if you have the dog hold the bowl in it's mouth each time you feed her/him then take it from them and fill the bowl I imagine they would get the clue quickly.
