Dog Health Questions: Where can I have my dog be trained to become a...?

Where can I have my dog trained to become a service dog I live in stroudsburg Pennsylvania and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can have my dog become a real service dog, and also get him registered I don't know if what disability I need him for is relavent so I won't put it unless anyone asks, but I need to know before school starts because all last year they denied my dog to become a service dog if anyone knows where I can find a place please tell me! Oh and I don't need to know where to "register" him like for him to actually get training to become a real service dog, thanks! :)

You need to contact a trainer in your area that does CGC training. Once he's completed that, ask her for a referral to someone who trains specifically for service dogs.

You should realize that this training can get up towards $10000 to have it done correctly. It also will not be done by September.

Your dog must be healthy & strong enough to be your service dog and cannot have ANY temperament issues at all.

Here are a few resources that may help you:

Also, be sure that you understand what a service dog is. It's not a pet that goes places with you. It's a working dog that functions in a specific way to help you with a specific physical disability. Emotion Support Animals, Therapy Dogs, and Psych dogs are not the same thing as Service Animals and are not afforded the same rights.
