Dog Health Questions: Brutal dog training......................…

i would just like to share what i witnessed last night. there is this man who was teaching his dog to jump in a very brutal way. he is literally torturing the dog! he was whipping the dog like there's no tomorrow, choking it to death, and shooting with pellet gun! my heart was like being broken into pieces. i couldn't stand what he's doing. the dog was crying out loud! why does he have to do that?! and what bothers me is the fact that he was only teaching the dog to jump meaning there's more to come when he starts teaching other things. :'(
i think dog shows should be banned to prevent this brutal trainers from extremely abusing their dogs!... by the way that was like 11pm already, i believe its time for that dog to sleep instead of getting beaten to jump

What do you mean dog shows should be banned? As in pure breed dog shows? Or TV shows which teach people how to train their dogs?
In either case- this is not the solution to previnting people from abusing their dogs.

If you were so upset, why did you not confront the man with his dog? Or contact your local animal welfare organisation or Police office?
You could have even taped the incident on your phone or camera to provide evidence that the man was abusing his dog.

• What does this have to do with dog shows, that they should be banned? The only show dogs I've seen have been rather well taken care of. If you don't care for them well, they don't win anyways. And banning a dog show doesn't end this abuse. People will still abuse animals regardless. I don't think it'd ever be possible to have absolutely no animal abuse in the world.
